Finnish DENSE partners VTT and Oplatek disseminated project results in two well attended events in Finland last week. Project innovations were introduced to the general public during the international Tampere Smart City Week on 8-12 October 2018 and LiDAR and optic topics were presented to the forest industry representatives at the Forest & Photonics event, held in Koli, Finland on 10-11 October 2018.
VTT presented a DENSE demo vehicle, the robot car Martti, together with other smart city innovations in a showcase organized in the Ratina Shopping Centre, Tampere, on 8 October 2018. The public had the opportunity to see and experience various robotic solutions and ask questions directly to the experts presenting them.
The LiDAR, optics and automated driving topics were introduced to forest industry work machine manufacturers at the Forest & Photonics event, gathering over 100 participants. One of the conference key topics was optical sensing. The presentation held by Matti Kutila, VTT and Jyrki, Huttunen, Oplatek raised many questions and interest on deploying DENSE results in the field of forest industry.
